Why get a Tarot Reading?
There are so many reasons to consider for why you should get a tarot card reading in Dallas, Texas, but maybe you aren’t sure about what the process of the reading will look like and how it can benefit you. I know for me personally, whenever I first started getting readings the fear and excitement of someone looking into my life was overwhelming. However, with time I really realized that readings are just a natural way to help us with our life path. Psychics have the ability to see through situations and help you make better decisions for yourself.
What is the Tarot?
The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards, each with their own special imagery, designs, symbolism, and meaning. The 22 Major Arcana cards represent the major karmic and spiritual lessons we much learn and the 56 Minor Arcana cards reflect the situations and life scenarios we can take when discovering our life purpose. Within each of the Minor Arcana cards, there are 16 Tarot cards which represent kings and queens and different symbols that could be categorized as different personality types and characteristics we choose to express at any given time. There are 4 suits, with 10 cards each, representing different life situations that we can encounter day-to-day.
When getting a Tarot reading, we usually want to ask the tarot about love, finance, prosperity or life. The tarot will pick up on the energy surrounded by your current situations and give insight into what is happening.
What a reading can do for you
The Tarot is very good at telling you not what is going to happen in your future, but what is happening now in your current situation. Therefore, the tarot is great at highlighting the aspects of your life you may not be fully aware of at the moment. Therefore, the tarot can pick up on influences that are acting on you, what is happening in your life financially, different work-life problems and how you can act and better your life within a current situation.
The Tarot helps you gain a fresh perspective on your life or in different situations. It can help you uncover different emotional problems you’re having, negative relationships, and different parts of our personalities we may be neglecting and it can help us develop a more insightful understanding of where we stand emotionally within a given situation.
When to Get a Tarot Card Reading
The times we should get a tarot card reading is really dependent upon the reading and what they’re looking for within the analysis.
However, these are the times you should be getting a tarot card reading:
- When you’re feeling down in the dumps and unsure about a particular situation
- When starting a new phase in your life like a recent engagement, job opportunity or move
- When you’re starting a new project – the tarot can be a really effective way to determine where a new project is going to take you.
- When you’re struggling to make decisions about a situation
- When you’re looking for answers on love and what your next moves should be or if you’re with the right person
How is psychic healing different?
I don’t think of the Tarot readings I do as ‘fortune telling’, although that is one of the things traditionally associated with the use of the Tarot. While attempting to predict the future for someone is interesting, and indeed I tend to think it’s possible, I’m not sure how valuable it is.
Fortune telling appears to work by taking account of all of the influences that are acting on a person at a given instant, and extrapolating from them the most likely course of events over the next few months. I don’t believe it can ever be 100% successful simply because there are so many random factors in day to day life so that although we may be heading in a particular direction today, there’s no reason to think something might not make us deviate from that path tomorrow. The very act of the reading gives you more information than you had before, which must surely influence the decisions you make from then on – if not, then the reading is entirely pointless anyway.
But mainly my objection to fortune telling is a philosophical one. I think a lot of people are attracted to fortune telling because they wish the reassurance that comes from being told that things are basically going to work out okay. But being told what is going to happen must surely reduce a person sense of control over their own life, and may encourage them to abdicate responsibility for what happens to them. My readings are dedicated to showing people the influences acting on their life, and giving them insight into how to take control of them. I may warn of possible consequences of actions they currently have planned, but the point in doing so is to give people the opportunity to change their direction, take control, and form a future that they choose – not one that I lay out for them.
